- I almost forgot...
- If you have an unbroken SCSI controller (GVP+GURU or 3000(T) or the brand
- new (or "Newer"?) version of Oktagon check the Direct SCSI Option. If
- not, you HAVE to setup a device disk, and therefore will need one free.
-
- Sorry I forgot that stuff.
-
-
-
- On another note...
-
- Has anyone been using the VideoStage Pro that came with the CU Amiga
- magazine? I know it isn't Scala, but it sure is fun! The Zip comes in
- Handy for presentations that need to be portable with that thing.
-
- I also want to know if anyone has used Video Tracker? I can't afford
- Scala (yet) so I've been thinking about registering it. I like the fact
- that it compresses everything so that the "vidules" aren't easily
- grabbed. I know it's artist's paranoia, but I hate having my stuff
- grabbed and modified or just used without permission.
-
- I love the VideoStage Pro interface though, using a Timeline like in
- Premiere is very comfortable for me.
-
- Speaking of Premiere, is QuickTime actually coming to the Amiga before
- Escom buries this machine? After a year, you'd think we'd have a new OS
- update (3.2 with retargetable graphics and memory protection, scsi2 FAST
- device, fixes for 3.1, etc...) and instead they seem to be farming it all
- out, announcing a new OS (which is most likely incompatible with our
- present one) dropping the CD32, bungling Floppy drives (no HD, & not
- backwards compatible) and firing everyone. C= wasn't doing this good a
- job of killing the Amiga off.
-
- Believe me, I'd love to move-up to a PowerPC from (or within) my 3000T,
- but since Motorola couldn't make the PPC 620 Processor into an Alpha
- Killer, and has since dropped the PPC line, and because Macs suck at
- doing an OS correctly, and Memory management, and since PCs LOVE to crash
- HDs, and can't become expandable due to thier use of IRQ's, it looks like
- my next video sloution will be something like an Alpha with a Millenium
- and a Perception; with Razor's Edge, Premiere, and Lightwave for
- software. At least there will be a good word processor, now that Final
- Writer is available for Windoze 95.
-
- Windoze NT will suck compared to the Amiga OS, but at least I learned
- computers in a friendly enviroment (as opposed to ALL others). The tools
- available define the game now, and Amiga Technologies is just watching
- the world go by. NOT HEALTHY!
-
- I guess April 12th to 14th will decide whether I still have any hope for
- the Amiga left.
